Island of Capri: Relais & Chateaux Caesar Augustus
Luxury with a view
Boasting a jaw-droppingly beautiful location on the cliffs of Anacapri, Caesar Augustus is famous for the incredibly panoramic views of the Bay of Naples which can be enjoyed from every window, balcony and terrace.
A history of hospitality
Steeped in history, the building dates back to the 1800’s and was once the island retreat of a Russian Prince. In the 1930’s the property was purchased by the Signorini family, who were responsible for transforming the iconic cliff edge residence in today’s award winning 5 star hotel. Today the hotel is managed by Paolo Signorini and his son Francesco, both eager to share their love of the island of Capri and their luxurious island home with guests.
Roll on the romance
A serene and sophisticated atmosphere pervades this stunning boutique property. No children under the age of 12 are allowed and the majority of clients are couples celebrating their honeymoon, baby moon or special anniversary. Honeymooners will love the romantic rooms and suites - especially the 5 Master Suites and rooms with Sea View Cliff Side - all of which have full and completely unobstructed views of the sea.
Caesar Augustus lifestyle
When they are not relaxing in their private sea view garden or on their bedroom balcony, guests might easily be found soaking up the sun by the double level infinity pool overlooking the neighboring island of Ischia, sipping cocktails on the sweeping bar terrace, relaxing to the soft sounds of piano music in the elegantly appointed living room, enjoying some professional pampering in the outdoor wellness facility or exploring the extensive cliff top gardens which have any number of secret corners perfect for sea-gazing, sun bathing and secluded smooching.
Zero miles - maximum taste
Adhering to Relais & Chateaux’s zero mile philosophy, Caesar Augustus’ delicious Southern Italian cuisine is made with the finest of locally sourced ingredients and the seasonal herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel’s large kitchen garden. For an eating experience they'll never forget, guests should book one of the hotel's exclusive outdoor dining tables located in particularly panoramic and private parts of the property.
Small is beautiful
Although the resort does not host large scale events, intimate wedding parties are occasionally held on the sea view terraces above the infinity pool.
Time to explore
Whilst most guests staying at this breathtakingly beautiful boutique property will want to do nothing other than indulge in what the Italians call “the sweet art of doing nothing”, the island of Capri offers numerous options for excursions and activities, from boat trips to coastal hikes, tours of the island’s Roman villas and designer shopping sprees - all of which our concierge will be happy to arrange.
Changes we’ve made for a changing world. 2021 summer season (May 15th - October 30th)
Although the island has been almost entirely Covid-free we are, of course, taking all the measures required by national, regional and local authorities to ensure the safety of our clients and staff.
In order to guarantee social distancing and to make sure that this is perceived by our guests as a natural feature of a truly luxurious holiday (rather than as an anti-Covid measure), we have decided to provide accommodation in 40 of our 55 rooms and suites (guests staying with us this summer will feel even more as if they are in their very own magnificent cliff edge mansion!).
We have ample space on our panoramic terraces and in our cliff edge gardens where guests are able to relax and dine in total privacy. In fact, we have increased the number of special tables available for exclusive dining, far away from any other clients.
All facilities, with the exception of the steam bath, are operational.
